Founded in 1851 by Cornishman Walter Hicks, today St Austell Brewery remains 100% independent and family owned and is famous for brewing the South-West’s favourite beers, for owning 168 pubs and for supplying over 3,000 free trade customers across our region.

Just three miles from the Eden Project, St Austell Brewery is a must-visit destination for all lovers of good beer, tasty pub food and great company. Our Visitor Centre is open 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) and includes:

  • The Hicks Bar – a traditional pub serving an extensive range of St Austell beers, freshly cooked meals and snacks and delicious freshly ground Brewer & Bean coffee.
  • The Brewery Museum and Guided Tours – explore the Victorian brewery, learn the history, see the brewing process in action and enjoy a tutored tasting of St Austell Brewery beers.
  • Brewery Shop – stock up with your favourite St Austell bottled beers straight from the brewery plus a fine selection of wines, spirits and branded gifts.
